Do you live in the Sedgefield area and want to stop smoking? Come along to our drop-in sessions 30/03/2010

A new community stop smoking drop-in session begins at Sedgefield’s Ceddesfield Hall from Tuesday 20 April.

The weekly, free drop-in sessions from 4.00pm to 5.30pm have been arranged for people who want to pop down for some quick advice, smoking cessation aids or advice on relapse therapy.

Craig Lee, specialist stop smoking advisor with NHS County Durham and Darlington Community Health Services said: “The great thing about the Stop Smoking Service is that we’re local. We’re there to help local people, not to preach and you are four times more likely to stop smoking with the NHS Stop Smoking Service. “There are over 1,000 places in the region where smokers can get expert support and medication to deal with cravings, from GP surgeries to pharmacies, schools and community centres.” Local NHS Stop Smoking Services offer one-to-one or group sessions with trained stop smoking advisers, with expert advice about managing your cravings, dealing with stress, possible weight gain and the medicines available to help you. Ceddesfield Hall is located on Rectory Row, Sedgefield, TS21 2AE. For further information, contact the stop smoking service on 0191 5692825.
